Carmen Spino is a Nova Scotia-based visual artist whose work explores the intersections of perception, cognition, and storytelling through painting. Her practice integrates exploratory techniques with conceptual research to create artworks that invite viewers to consider how visual language shapes understanding and experience. Carmen had studied at the Dawson College and l'Université du Québec à Montréal.
Specializing in contemporary painting, Carmen's practice focuses on colour relationship, texture, and the interplay between abstraction and representation. Through layered surfaces and dynamic compositions, she aims to invite viewers into reflective spaces.

Carmen has a desire to further contribute to the regional arts ecosystem by producing original works that reflect Nova Scotia’s rich cultural heritage while pushing contemporary boundaries.
